I think his contract has already been renewed. Maybe at the meeting in August.

If it was renewed, then good for him. He is a pretty good man and has kept his wits about him for the most part on this. He is fighting a losing battle with the SB when 3 members have so much animosity toward him and when half the BOS wants to run him off. I have said all along that consolidation needs to happen and it will, eventually. About the only thing I don't agree with are some of the "hair-brained" models they have proposed.

According to a press release by Dr. Perry yesterday, there will be a special called meeting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Lake ST. Ed center to consider a plan of consolidation for the county. He also stated yesterday he is not ready to discuss the details of the scenario yet.

Looks like P.V., Kelly, and Coeburn will be welcoming new students this time next year. That is my guess.:p

That is my thought as well however I am not sure if will be next year (not sure that they can pull it off that quick but who the heck knows)

Perry had stated before they can do it in 4 months time, with all the time this has been going on you know they have something already worked up.

Well, look out Appy and Pound, come graduation day 2011 your schools will no longer exist according to the lastest plan released by Dr. Perry. St. Paul will be left alone with the exception that it will be a combined school(think the power plant had anything to do with that?).

If all this is true, I want to invite our brothers (and sisters) from Appalachia to come to J.I. Burton you will find open arms, and a VERY warm reception!

The new plan will still have to go through a public forum and then be officially approved by the schoolboard. I would love to be a "fly on the wall" right now at some of the BOS homes and hear just what they are saying privately.
